Air-laid Paper---sanitary napkins

The main ingredient of air-laid paper is wood pulp. Air-laid paper is also called air-laid pulp non-woven fabric. It is made of chemical fiber filament double woven. Air-laid paper is a kind of high elasticity of dry non-woven fabric, with soft surface, soft, with excellent hand feel and drape,easy to wipe sensitive surface, friction without fiber, with extremely high water absorption and outstanding water retention function, which is widely used in health care products.

Air-laid paper has two main characteristics: the material is wood pulp fiber and the choice of airflow into the network skills. The production technology of non-woven mainly consists of two processes: netting and reinforcing.

There are two ways to make air-laid paper:

Chemical bonding method

Using wood pulp fiber (fluff pulp) as the raw material, a single fiber state of the fiber through the air flow into a network, with the method of spraying water-soluble adhesive spray onto the surface of the fiber network, and then bake and reinforce into cloth. The products are mainly used for industrial wipes, women hygiene products, baby wet wipes,etc.

Hot bonding method

Mixing hot melt fibers into the fluffy-pulp fibers, the proportion of which is generally not less than 15%. After the air flow into a network, the low melting point fibers in the fiber network are fused through hot air or hot rolling, and the fiber network is reinforced into cloth. Using hot bonding method the non-woven fabric has better fluffiness and hygroscopic properties because they do not contain chemical adhesives. They are mainly used as absorbent core of high absorbent sanitary products and thin women sanitary napkins.

To sum up, air-laid paper is essentially non-woven fabric.
