In the first half of 2023, the export of absorbent sanitary products still maintained a comprehensive growth momentum, and the export volume, export value and average export price continued the growth trend of the previous two years.

The largest proportion of export products is baby diapers, accounting for 40.5% of the total export, and its growth rate is the highest, 31.0%, showing that the competitiveness of Chinese baby diapers products in overseas markets continues to improve.

Sanitary napkins accounted for a small proportion of export products, but the average price of its exports continued to rise, showing that China's high-end sanitary napkins have stable demand in overseas markets.

Import

In the first half of 2023, the import volume of absorbent sanitary products was only 19,700 tons, a significant decrease of 49.33% compared with the same period in 2022. Among them, baby diapers are still the main, and the number of imports accounts for 62.18%, and the decline is also large, reaching 59.23%.

Analysis of the reasons for the reduction: In recent years, China's baby diapers production capacity has increased, the quality has improved, while the baby birth rate has decreased, the target consumer group has decreased, and the demand for imported products has been further reduced. Among absorbent sanitary products, sanitary napkins (pads) and hemostatic plugs were the only categories to achieve growth.

The total export volume of absorbable sanitary products is much higher than the import volume, showing the increasing production strength of China's absorbable sanitary products industry.
